Mid-Century Modern
A newlywed couple, excitedly awaiting the arrival of their little one, has discovered their dream home: a stunning mid-century masterpiece by the legendary architect Roy Johnson, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright. Nestled on a picturesque hill in Westchester County, this unique abode boasts a captivating hexagonal shape that gracefully expands into a star configuration, complete with a striking central skylight that illuminates the fireplace below. This thoughtful design embodies the harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor living, perfectly showcasing Wright’s iconic architectural vision.
In this uniquely shaped house, the previous owner made some interesting choices when renovating the kitchen, often overlooking the home's rich history and original charm, both in terms of layout and style.
Now, the new design breathes fresh life into the space, creating a kitchen that not only brightens the room but also pays homage to its roots. With an emphasis on maximizing storage without sacrificing the breathtaking views or overall functionality, this kitchen flows seamlessly from one station to the next, perfectly suited for its triangular layout

The added counter space becomes a central gathering spot for the family, where they can prep meals and share moments together. Plus, it acts as a convenient bridge between the kitchen and dining room, enhancing the overall experience of home life. This transformation truly celebrates the beauty of the house while fostering connections and functionality.
As they embark on their renovation journey, the couple's aim is to infuse contemporary elements into the home's interior while honoring its original charm. Their thoughtful approach focuses on updating the space to suit the needs of their growing family, all without altering the beloved layout. Carefully chosen new materials complement the existing color palette, along with stylish new furniture and lighting, ensuring that the essence of this architectural gem remains intact while welcoming a fresh, modern touch.
